  Outhouse wintertime

  You can now read the full story behind the modern outhouse that I build a couple of years ago. Later on I added a solar-cell unit on the roof to power up the lighting inside of the outhouse during night-time. Images of this unit and the lighting will be uploaded to the article soon.

  Arduino Duemilanove arrived!

  Just received my new Arduino board called Duemilanove. It was made 2009 in Italy and has this nice print of Italy on the back. It works like a beauty and I no longer need to press that “&/(€%&//” reset-button. Some nice features are:

  • It’s fully compatible with the previous ATmega168, but with twice the memory.
  • The Duemilanove automatically selects the appropriate power supply (USB or external power), eliminating the need for the power selection jumper found on previous boards.
  • The speed (in the bootloader) has been raised for uploading new sketches, from 19200 baud to 57600 baud.
